Personal Background

About Me

My personality has been greatly influenced by many things but one of the biggest factors that made me who am I today is my family and home life. My mom has especially made me who I am today, she always taught me to know my worth but to stay humble, and to always help those in need. I would describe my personality as caring, humble, passionate, hardworking, and at times stubborn. Throughout my life, I have had many other life events and people shape who I am today.

Life Experience

Freshman year of Softball  - 2016

As a kid, I played many different sports but the one sport I stuck with was softball. Softball was my whole life and I have played travel softball for about 15 years. When I was a freshman in high school I was super nervous about trying out for the softball team, and I did not expect to make varsity at shortstop. Sadly my freshman season ended at our first game when I broke my finger during the game. When I found out I broke my finger and would need surgery I asked if they could just cut it off but sadly they told me no. I ended up getting 3 pins put in my finger and would be out for the rest of the season. During the rest of the season, I went to every practice and every game unless I had a doctor's appointment for my finger. Not being able to play the sport I loved killed me inside but I held my head high and supported my teammates. Breaking my finger made a huge impact on my life because it made me realize that anything can happen to you and not to take anything for granted. It also taught me how to be patient and how to better leader by example.

Important Mentors - Current

Some of the most important mentors throughout my life have been my mom and my coaches. Although using my mom as an important mentor of mine seems very normal or average, it is true. My mom is the person who has had the most impact on my life and really made me who I am today. Other than my mom my travel coaches are also one of my very important mentors. I have played on this travel softball team with these coaches for 11 years and they were the best coaches I have had. They really pushed me to be the best softball player I could be and really would work with me to improve my skills. Not only did they impact my athletic life they impacted me personally. I knew that I could go to my coaches for anything whether it was for a softball or a personal problem. They were the types of coaches that knew what you were capable of and didn't expect anything less of that. They always wanted what was best for you and the team. They would do anything for my team and I to succeed. They were the most selfless coaches I had ever had. They are amazing people and they have greatly impacted me!

Going to College - 2019

Coming to college was a big change for me. I came from a family of six so we did everything together and coming to Indianapolis and being on my own was very different but in a good way. I didn't like high school very much because I hated going to the same five classes five days a week and have a set time of classes, whereas in college every day is different and I get to set my own schedule and time of classes. Coming to college helped me tune up some skills that I had already such as good time-management and organization, and its helping me become more independent and more used to being on my own.
